Foto Relevance's rebranding letter — the photo dealer at the 4411 Montrose Gallery Building is now Koslov Larsen — arrived along with a postcard announcing an upcoming show. We were captivated by the imagery for t h e e x h i b i t i o n " J P Terlizzi: Creatures of Curiosity." Terlizzi's maximalist tablescapes o f f e r e x u b e r a n t l y arresting odes to the opulent and over-the- top. Plucking from his personal collection of fine china (Spode a n d We d g w o o d a re favorites), the artist has mined a series of beautiful excess, crafting images of luxurious table settings juxtaposed with equally florid wallpaper and staged still lifes of precariously stacked fruit, sweets, and flowers. Terlizzi's ongoing The Good Dishes, Garden Symphonies, Creatures of Curiosity, and Holding Arabesque go beyond exquisite photographic prints. The artist penned in the catalog: "May your time spent around the table be filled with love, laughter, and memories."
