Fox Hollow is billed as a gastro lounge with vintage flair. Founder Augustine Bui says to expect locally sourced, affordable organic food and cocktails, spirits and undiscovered wines in vintage stemware — served by barmen in kilts. Meanwhile, Tqla will feature a fusion of Mexican, Southwestern and Southern fare from chef Thomas Birdwell, as well as a whopping 167 tequilas (at last count) selected by certified tequilier (kind of like a master sommelier) Scott Lindsey. Laurann Claridge knew I liked Jerry DeWitt from the first voicemail he left for me. "Hey, as one business owner to another, I just wanted to let you know that something is wrong with your phone system — I'm in town and I'm trying to find a place to pick up PaperCity and I can't find any extension to help me and I keep getting disconnected. I'm launching a new business, and I hear that PaperCity is where I need to advertise." The first thing I did? Call our phone service to have the problem fixed. Then I picked up that phone to call Jerry and thank him for the message. This was about four months ago, just as the PaperCity charity initiatives I've been hinting about were starting to come together. Well, Jerry explained that he is expanding their 10-year-old online software business called Blacktie, developed to help nonprofits streamline their operations and raise more money. Can you say "serendipity"? I told Jerry what I had cooking, and he said we should meet. Turns out, our businesses were more aligned than I could have imagined — from online event photos to a social calendar and more. Fast-forward to today, and, well, we've become partners in Blacktie's offerings, and let's just say in the next few months, you will be hearing a lot more about what Blacktie and PaperCity are doing together. By the way, PaperCity's first charity initiative, Greater Goods, is launching this month. This is an innovative integration of e-commerce and charity, where a portion of sales from our partners' Web sites are donated to our designated partner beneficiaries. Make sure you're signed up at papercitymag.com to get updates and offers from retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Horchow, Saks Fifth Avenue, Net-a-Porter and others, including your favorite local merchants. And do give us a call anytime. The phones are working, and I'd love to hear from you. When the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book hits your mailbox, it's officially the holiday season. This year's 84th edition also marks the 50th anniversary of those famous "His and Hers" gifts. Always clever and immensely extravagant, this year's crop includes the MetroShip houseboat — a mod 48-by-12-foot house on water with an open floor plan, seven-foot ceilings and translucent thermal aluminum walls ($250,000). Need a his, hers and theirs gift? Have your little ones unwrap Dylan Candy Bar's edible, life-size gingerbread playhouse, made with 381 pounds of gingerbread and 517 pounds of icing ($15,000). But the fantasy gift that keeps us off Santa's naughty list is Dale Chihuly's pool installation. Imagine having the renowned glass artist create a private commission for the bottom of your swimming pool. That's an excellent way to coax us into the deep end. Laurann Claridge Letter from the Editor returns next month. Dale Chihuly pool
