Lillian August ROUND TOP SPONSORED PARTNER INSIDE VIEW Revives its Antiquaire Collection A heritage brand makes its Round Top debut L egacy textile and furniture company Lillian August will debut the Antiquaire Collection in Round Top at The Halles during the antiques and design show in March. Expect an assemblage of heirloom-quality reproduction furniture and upholstered pieces based on European antiques, each designed by former antiques dealer Dan Weiss, who co-founded the company with his mother, Lillian August, in 1988 and now welcomes his daughter, Eliza Weiss, to the leadership team. "I first launched the Antiquaire Collection with Lillian August about 15 years ago," he says. "I was an antiques dealer for over 30 years and started replicating some of my favorite pieces with a friend in the business." The first iteration of Antiquaire was a success, but manufacturing issues signaled the end of production for a time. Weiss' visits to Round Top in recent years inspired him to reintroduce the line. "The growth of the show and renewed excitement around antiques encouraged me to bring back Antiquaire," he says. After an exhaustive search, he discovered a small Italian-owned workshop in Vietnam to recreate the collection. 60
