Y Holly Moore ay. Cold front any day now. Texas is bopping right now; we just need the weather to cooperate, drop some degrees for that crispy, frisky feeling. Here's what's on our agenda in Houston and Dallas this month — I mention both cities, because we all need to go back and forth more. You people go to New York and Paris more easily than you go to Dallas. To show you what you're missing, we publish our What to Do in Dallas next month — watch for it. And I am personally getting all may favorite Dallas people to spend more time here in Houston. But, back to the calendar of not-to-miss events: Texas Contemporary Art Fair opens in Houston October 10 — chic, chic, chic. London jeweler Asprey is in town October 15 through 20, setting up a trunk show — see page 4 for deets. The Prince of Chintz, Mario Buatta, is at Decorative Center Houston October 16, signing his new tome. October 23 is the opening fête for Tom Ford's boutique in Dallas (alas, no Tom). October 26 is TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art at The Rachofsky House in Dallas. October 29, designers Tom Scheerer, Suzanne Kasler and Jeffrey Alan Marks speak and sign at The Houston Design Center (see pages 28 and 30). The month ends with the Contemporary Arts Museum's 65th anniversary exhibition and Halloween galas. And, November 2 is the Orange Show Gala, Dreamscape, chaired by Molly Hipp Hubbard and moi. Don't miss. Holly Moore Editor in chief holly@papercitymag.com OCTOBER 2013 | STYLE | FASHION | SOCIAL in 8, POP. CULTURE. W is tightly tailored, its lines suggesting the curves of its namesake letter. Vuitton's iconic Monogram canvas emblazons four out of five W bags, intelligently designed with a velvety effect or mixed with rare leathers. Our favorite? It's a toss-up between the black-and-white checkered and the all-over chartreuse with velvet monogram. $3,700 to $5,150, at the Louis Vuitton boutique. The latest styles refine the original classic motifs, exploring symbols of empire with sleek, modern silhouettes. Tiffany frames the numbers in cutouts of 18K yellow, rose or white gold — think luxe bangles, ornate diamond baubles and timeless medallion pedants. The result is a seamless blend of the contemporary with the legendary — which is simply the Tiffany way. $125 to $10,000, at Tiffany & Co.
