DAVID SHUTTO A Flaxen Fête for Covenant House I Chairmen Julie & Jay Rogers t was a gilded night for Covenant House Texas when 600 supporters turned out to celebrate the charity's 30th anniversary. The Hilton Americas–Houston ballroom sparkled, in keeping with the golden-themed soirée that included a seated supper and dancing. Gala chairmen Julie and Jay Rogers — with gold medal worthy support from gala committee members Mary Eads, Cheryl Boblitt, Aimee Snoots, Jo Ann Petersen, Linda Ligon, Kristen Carlson, and Amanda Crump — raised more than $900,000 for the homeless and runaway youth at CHT. Honors went to Tonya Hamilton and Albert Hergenroeder of Texas Children's Hospital, for their continued dedication to the atrisk youth of Houston. Hearts of gold: Covenant House president Kevin Ryan, Crystal Lovings, Laurie and Matt Schaub, Lisa and John Sarvadi, executive director Ronda Robinson, Davin DeGrate and Bill Balleza.
