Tory Burch continues to attract envy and garner buzz for her unerring taste. So, who better to present the Spring 2012 Collection than the brand ambassador herself, Miz Burch, alongside Neiman's fashion director Ken Downing, who is equally adept at revving up our fashion engines. The pair, welcomed by NM general manager Bob Devlin, made a memorable duo at a runway show on the retailer's third-floor, where Mariposa crafted bites and desserts and concocted a Tory-themed drink. Front-row types: Lynn Wyatt, Diana Struve, Tina Swangphol, Ramona Burley, Joanna Wortham, Alessandra Assante, Meg Doepke, Caroline Guthrie, and Sarah Steinmeier. Lauren Bush Lauren's Latest Few fashion leaders have generated such a global stir with one singular creation. Enter Lauren Bush Lauren, the granddaughter and niece of a fabled presidential dynasty and, as of last fall, the daughter-in-law of a fashion legend when she married David Lauren. Since 2006, Miz Bush Lauren's Feed Bag Project has raised funds for food and awareness for children living in hunger worldwide. Her latest is a surprising but intriguing collaboration with evening-bag designer Judith Leiber. In lieu of crystal encrusted minaudières, Leiber and Bush Lauren devised a simplified clutch emblazoned with the words "Feed 1000." The sale of each little bag provides 1,000 school meals for children in need. Bush Lauren returned to her hometown Neiman Marcus for a proper Houston launch, with a cozy lunch with loyal Leiber customers, joined by her mom Sharon Bush, pal Chelsea Cunningham and mom Susie Cunningham, Neiman's Stacey Swift and Alyssa Kilpatrick, Roz Pactor, Laura Ward, Carolyn Clophus, Yvonne Jackson, Anooshea Taghdisi, and Roya Taghdisi. Firemen, Furs, Fashion ... and Fund-Raising Fun and philanthropic gal about town Karen Wildenstein joined pal Cheryl Byington to chair an engaging luncheon in Neiman's Couture department for a very good cause: Houston Fire Fighters Burned and Crippled Children's Fund. The lively afternoon, billed as "Fashion, Furs and Firemen," lived up to its moniker, as our Fire Department's finest sold and signed calendars while fashion and furs glided by on the catwalk. Sizzling attendees: Leila Gilbert, Melissa King, Liz Jameson, Mary Ann McKeithan, Kathi Rovere, Astrid Van Dyke, Cynthe Hughes, and Joanne Naponic, who won the gingerbread decorating contest. This season's Child Advocates Angels of Hope Luncheon was no exception, chaired by it-girls Lucinda Loya and Stephanie Perkins and honoring Linda Messner, a lifetime member of the Friends of Child Advocates and a fund-raiser committed to women's and children's causes for 35 years. The day raised a chart-topping $350,000 plus, allowing CA to serve 212 children in Harris County through their court-appointed advocates. Neiman Marcus provided the wow to the wintry day, choreographing a fashion show featuring the lady-like Rena Lange's Spring 2012 collection, which drew applause from the crowd of 600. Among the leading ladies and dashing gents: NM main man Bob Devlin; Rena Lange's new creative director, Karsten Fielitz; Messner's son Jalin Casares, who movingly presented the award to his mom; new mom and authoress Joanna Barrett; Vanessa Sendukas; Rosemary Schatzman; Phyllis Williams; Child Advocates CEO Sonya Galvan and Guild manager/development guru Marla Endieveri; Merele Yarborough; Marcy Taub Wessel; Liz Glanville, whose DeVille Fine Jewelry donated a nice bauble to the raffle, won by Kendall Solé; Farhana Ahmed; and Audi's Jared Lang with past honoree Page Parkes-Eveleth, the pair co-hosting a table for the teens served by CA.
