A ward-winning architect Lionel Morrison's design for an up- and-coming country music star and his oil heiress wife is graceful, light-drenched and super high-tech. Not many houses can boast a garage large enough to fit a touring bus, but 6645 Northaven — on the market for $7,950,000 through Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty — can do just that. Think of it as the ideal place to park your Airstream Land Yacht. Designed in 2007 by architect Lionel Morrison, the two-story architecturally significant residence is set on 1.77 acres of beautifully sculpted lawn. With almost 15,000 square feet of open spaces, it's made for entertaining on a grand scale. Vast terraces, an outdoor kitchen, dining area, firepit and infinity- edge lap pool with its own glass pool retreat make it possible to enjoy the outdoors year-round. A curved steel-and-glass facade provides an almost 360-degree view overlooking the prestigious Hillcrest Estates. But don't think you have to sacrifice privacy for high-profile visibility. Specially designed privacy walls slide open at will. The master suite, which encompasses the east wing of the first floor, is secluded from the street by a concrete partition. Automated draperies create instant blackout for naps and nighttime, and a two-story wall acts as a door to close off the master wing when entertaining. Off the master bath is a fitness room that leads to a private patio, as well as a private spiral staircase that winds its way to a study and suite upstairs. The first floor's west wing holds the public rooms and outdoor spaces, including a separate motor court for valet parking. A pivoting zinc- front door opens onto a foyer with views to an outdoor courtyard and a floating staircase. In the formal living area, the spaces are designed to be minimal: A touch of a button reveals a hidden entertainment console. Slide open another wall, and you'll find a wet bar with sink, built-in ice maker, double Fisher & Paykel dishwasher drawers, two Sub-Zero refrigerator drawers and a built-in wine cooler with two Sub-Zero wine refrigerators. Step past a beautiful art wall to find the kitchen area with large island, double sinks, built- in Sub-Zero refrigerator, six-burner gas range, Miele built-in oven and double dishwashers. There's also a separate breakfast room and coffee bar with Miele cappuccino maker and microwave, full refrigerator and double-drawer freezer. Two main floating staircases provide access to the second level. On the west side are five bedrooms, each with its own walk-in closet and bath. There's also a large theater with built-in screen and state-of-the-art audio and video components. On the far west end is a self- contained apartment with living area, fireplace and kitchen. Behind-the-scenes details are crucial to keep the household running efficiently. Using sophisticated software imaging, Morrison's team created energy-saving external screens and sunshades that coordinate with the travel of the sun. Geothermal heating and cooling systems ensure lower utility bills and silent operation. With natural creeks, lakes, mature trees and an almost unequaled feeling of seclusion, this is one of Dallas' most coveted neighborhoods. 6645 Northaven Rd.
