Lucchese owners Lyn and John Muse flew in with a crew from Dallas — including daughter Whitney, president Doug Kindy and his wife Sally, CFO Tom Hough and wife Pat, and retail director Jay Hamby — for the fête, hosted with PaperCity. More than 300 well-heeled guests filled the handsome 5,000-square-foot boutique, soaking in the aroma of burnished leather and shopping the signature roper, cowboy and equestrian boots, chic stilettos, silver belt buckles, jewelry and handbags. The new destination, designed by Lyn Muse with Droese Raney Architecture, represents the brand's Western heritage and modern foray with 100-year-old salvaged barn-wood rafters, cowhides, saddles and powerful black-and-white equine photographs. A special collection of historic boots, circa 1949, with exquisite hand-tooled representations of Virginia, North Carolina and, of course, Texas, is showcased front and center. Rachael Volz, owner of A Fare Extraordinaire, provided ranch bites including bacon-wrapped quail, Bexar County shrimp and grits, and bourbon pecan bars and mixed up Tito's vodka fresh ginger lemonades while Alba Huerta whipped up Maker's Mark cocktails (fig old-fashioneds). Boots on the ground: newscaster turned actor Bob Boudreaux, country music star Neal McCoy, world-champion bull rider Tuff Hedeman, former Houston Oiler Dan Pastorini, MLB Hall of Famer Goose Gossage, Houston Polo Club's Tammy Beeson, Houston store manager John Thompson, Dallas-based Charles Ward, John Muse's nephew Lee Muse with wife Keely and daughter Ella, Ed McMahon, Natasha Collie, Leslie Pitts, Matthew Phillips, Brad Vinzant, and Laurann Claridge Zeitz and William Zeitz.
