PHOTOGRAPHY JENNY ANTILL CLIFTON. F or art lovers, strolling a museum after-hours is tantamount to a dreamy date in Venice: The lights are low, conversational gambits surround, and there's a sense of the verboten. The Menil Collection's contributors had that special lark (skipping the clichéd Valentine's dinner) at Menil by Moonlight. Live jazz from Mike Wheeler Trio provided the mood as guests strolled the galleries during hours when the great doors are usually padlocked shut. The magnetic "Takis: The Fourth Dimension" exhibit was a draw — the Menil has the largest single group of Takis' works outside of Europe. Sparkling rosé and Jackson and Company heart-shaped sandwiches and macarons were a nod to the holiday for lovers. Joy Photo Booth's heart-and-arrow backdrop transformed the cozy kiosk into a de facto kissing booth, as both the young and young at heart posed for pics with sweethearts. Aesthetes: Menil director Josef Helfenstein, Joelle and Geoffroy Petit, Jamie and Julio Laguarta, Olivia and Edward Persia, Jo and Paul Zider, April and Justin Fink, Megan and Andrew Glisson, David Lardy, Rachel Meade, Susie Bowen, and Brayden Chiles.
