ROYAL SOCIETY A royal-blue fleur-de-lis marked the spot for more than 300 guests who turned out for the debut of Austin-based Royal Blue Grocery. Bubbly toasts were made by store owners Emily Ray-Porter, Zac Porter, and Cullen Potts, with plenty of Dom Pérignon and Krug Champagne on hand. Kobrand Corporation's specialist, Thierry Plumettaz, even masterfully sabered a bottle of Taittinger to commemorate the occasion, while Royal Blue's top local and national vendors provided opportunities for nonstop noshing. True blues: Royal Blue Grocery co-founder Craig Staley; store manager Lauren Preseren; Nicole Musselman, Amy Turner, Kerensa Vest, Andre Staffelbach, Rick Mendoza, Kristi and Mike Wetherington, Jamie Jo Hayes, Bobby Boulogne, Mary and George Bowles, Jonika Nix, Shelby Brenan, Olivia Kearney, Debbie and Nickey Oates, Margaret Stafford, and Leisa Street. TO MARKET, TWO MARKETS WITH A CANOPY OF TWINKLE LIGHTS SHINING ABOVE THE GLAMOROUS SHOPS AT HIGHLAND PARK VILLAGE, TWO FESTIVE OPENINGS PUT A NEW SPIN ON SHOPPING — WHETHER YOU WERE IN THE MARKET FOR GOURMET GROCERIES OR POSH WARDROBE FILLERS. MARKET SHARES The Summers name is synonymous with Highland Park Village — Stephen Summers and Ray Washburne are co-owners of this stronghold of luxury names. So when word spread that Elisa Summers — wife of Stephen Summers — was opening a lifestyle and fashion boutique dubbed Market, a fashionable coterie turned out for the grand opening. A large tent was erected adjacent the shop to accommodate the immense guest list, which included Elisa's besties, family (her mother-in-law is interior designer Emily Summers) and future clients. Elisa paired with founder and CEO of Seaside Luxe, Lee Ann Sauter, to create a breezy vibe and a classic beachy-cool mix of home design, clothing, jewelry, sunnies and sweets. Partygoers shopped the racks of Prabal Gurung and Missoni, paraded in Aquazzura sandals and delighted in confections from L.A.-based candy purveyor Sugarfina. Talk about a delicious evening. Thanks to decor genies from Todd Events, Beyond and Stageworks, the event space at Sixty Five Hundred was transformed into a Technicolor playground with piñatas marking the silent auction spot, a "Weekend Update" photo set and culinary stations where top chefs prepared playful, in-theme bites: Chef Jeff Moschetti of Jasper's made a mean The Gap Girls cheeseburger, while chef Michael Scott of Rosewood Beef had us laughing out loud with JT's Hot "D" in a box. Chairs Jennifer Burns and Julian Leaver mingled with the costume-clad set who were dressed as their fave SNL characters; Mary Katherine Gallagher, Hans and Franz, Stefon, Sarah Palin and a gaggle of ladies dressed in mom jeans were just a few of the comedic stars we spotted. The Birthday Party Project was founded by event planner Paige Chenault, who aimed to bring joy to homeless children through the magic of birthday parties. To date, the organization has celebrated more than 1,900 of the special days for more than 15,000 homeless children. The evening had all the makings of ratings gold — definitely something to warrant a shout- out from the Spartan Cheerleaders. Revelers: Vickie and Bill Coffey, Brad Koons, Doug Hamilton, Brian Dranguet, Kelly and Marty Turco, Diana Smith, Mona McDonald, Brooke Herold, Heidi and Phillip Fristoe, Randi McBroom, Lauren Heiler, Misty Barnes, Spencer Grantham, and Andrea Bazin.
