V.O.D.x10 have cared less about it not being a known brand. That's why she is who she is. V.O.D.'s trunk shows — or should we say parties? — are epic. A surprise performance by the Polyphonic Spree during our Piamita trunk show with Karla Martinez in 2011 was very cool. And when we hosted and showed our dear friend artist Hunter Barnes during Art Ball weekend in 2015, that was pretty special. You have lots of friends in the art world. We've loved showing the work of our friend, photographer Allison Smith. We collaborate and show art with Barry Whistler Gallery, and having that presence in the store has been the best. Our host from our first V.O.D. Travel Club trip was Anne Menke, and inviting her back to Dallas to show her photography and have a book signing was so much fun. Ten years warrants lots of champagne. Paris is so close to our hearts and practically our second home, as about 70 percent of our collections are French. Customers always say they want to go, so we figured, 'Why not throw a party there?' The actual anniversary party will be at the boutique and home of Vanessa Bruno, one of our most- beloved designers. We will organize shopping, food, and wine events throughout the weekend [for friends joining the trip and party]. We're also planning a day trip to Champagne — naturally!
