22 letter publisher ANNE LAHO A s the year comes to a close, we reflect on the past 12 months and what the year brought us. We will never forget 2017, from the tragic aftermath of Hurricane Harvey to the overwhelming excitement that the Astros' World Series win brought to Houston. As the city was lifted up with feelings of hope and happiness, holiday festivities began a little earlier than usual, and Houstonians celebrated a little more. November kicked off with events hosted by our two pinnacle luxury partners, The Galleria and River Oaks District. The Galleria hosted a luxurious seated dinner for 70 guests, with an intimate runway show by Neiman Marcus. River Oaks District hosted more than 2,000 at The Arts of Healing, a conver- gence of art and medicine. The inaugural event partnered local doctors with boutiques in River Oaks District. From musicians, painters, and photographers to fashion designers, each doctor had a different talent to share. Shoppers strolled through the center, late into the evening, enjoying the festive lights. The holidays are top of mind for us as well. One highlight of this issue is the annual Deutsch & Deutsch holiday jewelry insert — eight pages of over-the-top and accessible jewels. For more holiday ideas, look to PaperCity's jewelry and gift guide to find inspiration. We would like to wish everyone a healthy and happy holiday season, and we look forward to the New Year and what it may bring. Happy holidays from all of us at PaperCity magazine and papercitymag.com!
