The focal point of the living room is a bronze sculpture, Torse de Fruit avec Tête, 1911, by Antoine Bourdelle — "the pupil of Rodin for 17 years," Haukohl says. "You'll see a Bourdelle also in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, sculpture garden — the big [bronze of] Adam there." The collector acquired the sculpture directly from Bourdelle's only daughter, Madame Rhodia Bourdelle, in 2000. The French sculptor was the teacher of Giacometti and also Trotsky, who took art lessons from him in Paris. Noguchi Cloud settee and ottoman, produced by Herman Miller, circa 1948. Also inherited from Haukohl's parents are the T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings kidney table with matching slipper chairs.
