124 JAN OF THE HOUR BY CHRISTINA GEYER. PHOTOGRAPHY BRET REDMAN. an Showers is many things: queen of glamorous inte- rior decoration, style-setter famous for her impeccable taste, and generous philanthropist. It was the latter quality — in particular, Showers' benevolent support of nonprofit Dwell With Dignity — that was cause for celebration. Dwell With Dignity founders Lisa Robison and Kim Turner hosted a luncheon, filling the entirety of Forty Five Ten's penthouse restaurant, Mirador, with Showers' closest family, friends, and design colleagues. A champagne reception set the tone; Jan was, of course, swarmed by well-wishers. Once guests took their seats, Robison spoke about Dwell With Dignity's nearly 10-year history of providing beautifully furnished rooms for impoverished and homeless fami- lies. Then she raised a toast to Jan (who was seated with husband Jim Showers and daughters Elizabeth Showers and Susanna Moldawer) and to her longtime support of Dwell With Dignity's mission: Jan, we learned, signed on to help Robison and Turner with their endeavor from the start.
