76 Interior Design Master Class: 100 Lessons from America's Finest Designers on the Art of Decoration (Rizzoli) is a weighty tome that's essential reading for all who love design. Delatorre collects the expertise and knowledge of the best interior designers working today, with essays by each on topics dear to their hearts. Bunny Williams writes about Comfort, Kelly Wearstler on Glamour, Anthony Baratta on Exuberance, Mario Buatta on Color, Alessandra Branca on Red. These are the names — and the advice — that every designer should take to heart. It's a beautifully composed, stylish compendium of the decorating legends who matter, showcasing their finest projects. Dellatore moderates The Masters, with Anthony Baratta and Mary Douglas Drysdale. Friday, October 26, 6 pm. Location to be announced. Artist and lensman Martyn Thompson is revered in the design world as an interiors photographer who, decades ago, changed the way rooms were shot. His moody, lush cinematic photographs stem from his beginning as a fabric and fashion designer. Now he returns to his love of fabric design with his collection of rugs for Perennials. His books, Interiors and Working Space: An Insight Into the Creative Heart (Hardie Grant), are deep dives into his world of paint-spattered textiles, fever-dream rooms, which are poetic and compelling at once. At David Sutherland showroom, Dallas Design District, Wednesday, October 24, 4 pm. Author Helen Thompson's 2016 book, Marfa Modern, was a watershed moment for Texas architecture, comprised of prized examples of architecture contained within a few square miles of West Texas. Thompson broadens her horizons considerably with Texas Made/ Texas Modern: The House and the Land (The Monacelli Press), where she and photographer Casey Dunn travel the ranch roads and farm-to-market byways photographing the projects of heroic Texas architects Lawrence Speck, Lake/ Flato, Bodron + Fruit, Bentley Tibbs, Max Levy, Michael Hsu, and more. Thompson will moderate a panel with architects and designers Larry Speck, Bodron + Fruit, Jessica Stewart Lendvay, and Paul Draper, who all have projects in the book. Thursday, October 25, 6 pm. Location to be announced. HELEN THOMPSON MARTYN THOMPSON CARL DELLATORE AT TEXAS DESIGN WEEK DALLAS BOOKED Nancy Braithwaite's work is luxuriously minimalist, its beauty is its purity.
