39 vate clients. Working with her close friend, Dallas interior designer Ike Isenhour, she renovated the two villas and furnished them with exquisitely made goods, which she designed and had made by Italian artisans. Isenhour also designed the interior architecture for Schoenfeld's new store. In the new shop, Italy pairs with Mexico. Schoenfeld, who was born into the legendary Taxco-based Castillo family of silversmiths, was well known in her own right in the '80s and '90s for her sterling-silver jewelry and belts. Her collection was carried in 2,000 stores including Neiman Marcus, and her store in the Park Cities. Schoenfeld has devoted two rooms in her new store to the Castillo family, including tableware by Emilia Castillo in sterling and silver plate, some accented with delicate silver bees, frogs, and gemstones. Emilia's daughter, Cristina Cas- tillo, has produced a porcelain collection of bowls for Schoenfeld, with hand-applied, solid-silver fish and other oceanic designs. Cristina's archi- tect husband, Eduardo Herrera, has designed a unisex collection of hammered sterling-silver jewelry evocative of seaweed undulating in un- derwater currents. There's more: Isenhour and Schoenfeld col- laborated on a collection of furniture being made in Italy, which they plan to introduce sometime this year. And Schoenfeld is also putting to- gether special lunches at the store — serving her homemade pasta and basil pesto — where she'll talk about entertaining in Italy, or how Venetian glass is made. Soon, clients will be able to travel with her on buying trips to Italy, where they will stay in her favorite hotels, eat in her favorite restaurants, and visit some of her arti- san workshops. Schoenfeld continues to create custom jewelry, and she'll also custom design linens, bedding, and glassware — just the way it's done in fine homes in Italy.
