I nterior designers Lindsey Herod (who previously worked for Celerie Kemble in New York) and Meg Lonergan revealed the interiors of the Beyond the Storm Showcase Home in partnership with Stone Acorn Builders at a cocktail party filled with design and literacy lovers — many with a children's book in tow to donate to the showcase home's charitable partner, Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation. Sarah Lavine-Kass and Ben Lavine are the brother-sister duo be- hind Stone Acorn Builders, a member of the Southern Living Custom Builder Program. Only three Southern Living homes have been built in Houston proper, and this one was extra special: The previous bungalow at the Braes Heights location flooded during Hurricane Harvey, so Lavine-Kass and Lavine razed it and built a stunning new home with flood-resistant infrastructure. After construction, the siblings tapped Herod and Lonergan to design the rooms in high Southern style. And this they did, employing goods from Carl Moore Antiques, Block and Brayer (block-printed textiles), Matt Camron Rugs & Tapestries, Back Row Home, Lettrefina, Found, and Joyce Horn Antiques. Proceeds from the home-tour ticket sales also benefited Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation.
