TASTE OF THE TOWN C h e f s f o r F a r m e r s c e l e b r a t e s N o r t h Texas' entire culinary ecosystem and the people who make Dallas such an exciting place to dine. Since its debut 10 years ago, the food- and wine- filled event has grown from 125 to 4,500 guests as it supports Texas farmers. This fall, organization co-founder Iris Midler McCallister gathered 50 of the city's top chefs and restaurants for a sun-soaked food and wine festival (and grown-up tailgate party) at Dallas Heritage Village. Alex Astranti of Uchi and Uchiba, Bruno Davaillon of Bullion, John Tesar of Knife, Dean Fearing of Fearing's in the Ritz- Carlton, and Kent Rathbun of Imoto were among the chefs serving up cauliflower tostadas with jalapeño tomato jam, caviar- topped croquettes, and classic fried chicken — all benefiting Youth With Faces' career education and character development programs.
