letter publisher 18 MISAEL RODRIGUEZ T here's something invigorating about the first few months of the year. While I stopped making New Year's resolutions years ago, I always take this time to reflect on the previous year and to set goals for the one ahead. While the social season doesn't go into full swing until March, there are several PaperCity-sponsored fĂȘtes toward the end of this month to mark on your calendar. We kick things off with the Genesis Young Leaders Masquerade Saturday, February 22, at Sixty Five Hundred. Grab a luxurious mask for this special evening benefitting Genesis Women's Shelter. The following week, you'll find us sporting our most fabulous rouge for the American Heart Association's annual Go Red for Women Luncheon on Friday, February 28. Luncheon chair Judy Hendrick has no doubt organized an inspiring afternoon sure to raise millions. The month wraps up with the Aging Mind Foundation Gala, "Focus on a Cause," Saturday, February 29. In its sixth year, the event raises funds for treating dementia and Alzheimer's disease research. It's also the season of love (reminder, Valentine's Day!), so we've packed this issue with plenty of things to love, from eye-popping jewels to Krystal Schlegel and Luke Davis' stunning wedding, orchestrated by Todd Fiscus of Todd Events at the Dallas estate of Krystal's parents, Myrna and Bob Schlegel. We also look back at Texas Design Week Dallas, with its week- long design mania of salon talks, book signings, dinners, and cocktails, starting on page 58. And, finally, we wish our compatriots at PaperCity Houston, Happy 25th Anniversary! Brooke Dowdy Dallas Publisher brooke@papercitymag.com
