DIVE INTO OUR DIGITAL WORLD PAPERCITYMAG.COM HISTORIC RENOVATION A n iconic 1927 Uptown Dallas apartment building is set to be revamped by powerhouse developer Hines. Hines purchased the Maple Terrace Apartments, designed by Sir Alfred Bossom, with the intent to renovate the 1920s building, according to Hines managing director Ben Brewer; the historic structure will not be torn down. The seven-story Mediterranean-style complex will get the same luxe amenities as Hines' new wave of showcase residential properties, including The Preston in Houston and The Victor in Dallas' Victory Park neighborhood. Known for its many art galleries, design studios and showrooms, the district also boasts several great restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, entertainment hot spots, and the new Virgin Hotels Dallas. Developer Bill Hutchinson of Dunhill Partners had a vision of what the Design District could be when he purchased large swaths of it in 2014. Now, it's just about there.
