32 GLITTERING NIGHTS PHOTOGRAPHY WJN PHOTO FOR FGI, JONATHAN ZIZZO FOR DE BOULLE E very year, we eagerly await an announcement from Fashion Group International: Who will the organization — which grants scholarships to up-and-coming design talent — honor at its annual Night of Stars Gala. FGI does, after all, have a reputation for topping itself when it comes to selecting a golden group of honorees. This year was no exception. Chairman Victoria Snee, marketing guru for Highland Park Village, tapped four international talents for their contributions to the design world: Veronica Swanson Beard and Veronica Miele Beard of fashion house Veronica Beard; Dallas native and actress Angie Harmon; and designer Bob Mackie, who was lauded with FGI's lifetime achievement award. Local honorees included fitness entrepreneur John Terlingo and arts patron Sandra Moon. When the time came to celebrate, a packed house flooded The Adolphus hotel — no doubt wearing their most fashion- forward ensembles. We must take note of always dapper and daring Cameron Silver, founder of L.A.'s legendary Decades and fashion director for Halston, who served as the evening's emcee. Upon reflection of the social season, we declare Silver the most fun gent to take the charity circuit stage. A few weeks later, we arrived at another glitter- ing event: de Boulle's holiday party. Karen and Denis Boulle ensured each detail was perfect, with the emporium's façade lit up with twinkle lights and a gorgeous vintage car or two parked outside, while de Boulle's director of creative and marketing, Joshua Garcia, made sure champagne was generously poured. Anyone familiar with the Boulle clan knows that a de Boulle party is always a family affair. Son and race car driver Nick Boulle, was on hand to chat all things fine jewelry, watches and Formula One; and for younger sister Emma Boulle, the party served as a debut of sorts, as she recently announced her plans to join the family business. Cause to celebrate, indeed. A PAIR OF EVENINGS PACKED PLENTY OF SPARKLE. ONE, FOR ITS STAR-STUDDED LINEUP OF FASHION GEMS; THE OTHER, FOR THE GLAMOROUS PRECIOUS JEWELS.
