DIVE INTO OUR DIGITAL WORLD PAPERCITYMAG.COM SUSHI TIME K aiten-zushi (or conveyor belt sushi) has been around for more than half a century in Japan. The fi rst one to fl ip the switch was Mawaru Genroku Sushi, which introduced the novelty back in 1958 in Osaka. Now it's making its way to town. Akarii Revolving Sushi opens this summer in the Left Bank. The old kaiten-zushi days of stacking up the plates you chose — with plain white ones costing less than ornate ones — to calculate your bill are long gone. It's all done by touchscreen now. But many of the charms of the relaxed scene remain. Read more at papercitymag.com/akarri-sushi. WOMEN POWERED BABY YOGA Etico occupies a prime storefront on Magnolia Avenue — but it wants to be more than just another store. Showcasing nine female-owned brands that are all sustainably made, Etico co-founders Marissa Heyl, Sandra Falcon, and Pamela Lozoya bring a global fashion discussion home to Fort Worth. "My goal is to create a place where people can disconnect from their phones, have conversations, and read books," Heyl says. "We are fully aware that ethical fashion can be a little heavy, but we don't want that to be a factor here." Read more at papercitymag.com/etico. You could say that Kate Murphy is a bit of a busy body. Not only is she the owner of Nanda Yoga's new studio in Fort Worth, she also works at Cook Children's Hospital as a Child Life Specialist, puts in 12-hour ER shifts, and has two kids under the age of three. Bringing yoga to kids has long been one of Murphy's dreams — and like most of them, she's making it come true. Nanda introduces kids as young as six weeks old to the relaxation art. Forget any vision of speaking in hushed tones. "You can't teach adult yoga to children," Murphy says. "It's silly and loud and fun." Read more at papercitymag.com/ baby-yoga.
