I t w a s a h i s t o r i c n i g h t for Houston Center for Photography when its 39th annual print auction and dinner, "A Perfect Vision — 20 Years, 20 Artists," went down at the Briar Club. Chair couples Brooke and Adam Beebe, Nena and David Marsh, and Meg and Nelson Murray honored the daughters of photo connoisseur Carol Crow: Nancy Allen, Fairfax Randall, and Fan Morris. (For the past 20 years, HCP has bestowed the Carol Crow Fellowship Award upon a Houston photographer.) Nearly 300 guests had their pick of prints via silent and live auctions (including the top lot, Duane Michals' The Beards of young men glisten'd with Wet, won by an out- of-town bidder). All told, the night raked in a record-breaking $300,000 plus for HCP's photo mission.
