The new spot on the outskirts of downtown Dallas combines a speakeasy-style cocktail lounge and an exceptionally pink dining room. Inspired by London's Sketch restaurant and its Instagram-famous pink banquettes, the walls, booths, and murals in XOXO's dining room are swathed in blush pink with midnight-blue velvet chairs and gold fixtures. And each booth has a "Press for Champagne" button, just like at Sketch. Champagne on command? That's worth the wait. Read more at papercitymag.com/xoxo. SIDEWALK STRENGTH SUPER THRILLS BURGER POWER The wooden outdoor seating space in front of Revelers Hall in Dallas' Bishop Arts District is hard to miss. The new "parklet" takes up an entire parking space. And although the idea of parklets (a cute name for extending sidewalk space into the street) feels new to Dallas, they've been in New York and San Francisco — which is credited with introducing the concept — for years. Most importan tly, parklets mean vital extra dining space. "We'd built a few parklets before," says Revelers Hall co-owner Jason Roberts. "Seeing how well they worked, it was the first thing that came to mind when COVID started." Read more at papercitymag.com/parklets. Lamborghinis are not for wallflowers. If you're trying to blend in, it's probably best not to tool around town in one of the most recognizable supercars in the world. Those driving a Lamborghini want to be seen. The brand-new Lamborghini Huracán EVO RWD Spyder makes this easy: With this version, you can put the top down. Reaching speeds up to 201 MPH, this supercar is as geared around making an impression as performance. It's supposed to wow the neighbors. Read more at papercitymag.com/ lamborghini. The coronavirus pandemic is causing many to embrace simpler things. So perhaps it's no surprise that the once-humble burger is making a comeback in a starring role at some of the city's top restaurants. From James Beard-nominated chef John Tesar's Ozersky burger at Knife to Rodeo Goat's 15 different varieties, unique options abound. Looking for something different? Try East Dallas restaurant Invasions' Notorious Burger: marinated halal beef stuffed with caramelized onions, jalapeño, and mozzarella, topped with seared basil leaf.
