THIS JUST IN: AN EYE ON THE HORIZON: JEWELER VAN CLEEF & ARPELS is bringing its precious stones, highly technical mystery settings, and thematic collections to its first freestanding store in Dallas. Caitlin Clark NEW NAMES AT THE VILLAGE FROM A MENSWEAR HAVEN TO ICONIC LINGERIE, NEW BOUTIQUES ARE CALLING HISTORIC HIGHLAND PARK I cons Meet: For a brand with as much history as La Perla, Highland Park Village is a fitting destination. The newly opened boutique is a true extension of the Italian luxury lingerie house, a marriage of old and new that nods to La Perla's masterful ability to evolve and endure. The intimate space, located between Loro Piana and St. John, houses iconic lingerie, silk sleepwear with detailed macramé, and swimsuits in classic silhouettes — all available in a wide range of sizes for women. Fresh for fall is Dreamcatcher, La Perla's first machine-washable silk lingerie collection, as well as a collection celebrating the 25th anniversary of La Perla, the Maison Collection, designed by founder Ada Masotti. The collection of slip dresses, culottes and robes will be updated in muted pastel tones. La Perla, 42A Highland Park Village, laperla.com. Caitlin Clark V alentino has expanded its HPV footprint with a boutique for men within the Valentino shop. David Chipperfield Architects and Valentino's creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli collaborated on a marvelous interior of green velvet panels, Carrara marble, gray Venetian terrazzo, and wavy white gypsum panel walls. The Fall 2020 men's runway collection was presented just weeks before New York City gave the order to shelter in place. FKA Twigs played, while models wore a collection that was both somber and reflective. Did Piccioli know that the world itself would soon be the same? Those with social graces might want to send a handwritten note to the powers that be to take it easy on us in the months ahead. Thus, the timing couldn't be more perfect for the launch of the new stationery collaboration Bell'Invito x Bernard Maisner. Bell'Invito founder and creative director Heather Wiese- Alexander had long respected the work of NYC-based Maisner, a world- renowned master of the calligraphy pen. The signature Maisner script is a blend of Spencerian and Copperplate lettering with intricate flourishes, and his collection of Italian, French, and Americana lettering styles was originally created for fashion designer Valentino. Two years ago, Wiese-Alexander hatched a plan with Maisner to launch an exclusive collection of stationery, wedding, and holiday papiers with both ready-to-share and bespoke options, available in her shop and online.
