Fare Game at Recipe for Success Safari Dinner ERIN OPPENHEIM SURVEYS THE SCENE. PHOTOGRAPHY PRISCILLA DICKSON, LAUREN BALLARD, JENNA WHITE. Chad Atlas N eiman Marcus teamed up with Recipe for Success to celebrate the fourth year of the innovative Dress for Dinner fêtes, in 2012 – 2013 chaired by Ceron and Todd Fiscus. The dashing duo greeted a stylish safari of game guests, who were treated to a peek at designer Edward Wilkerson's Lafayette 148 New York spring collection. Models strutted down the runway in the global glam looks, highlighted by myriad shades of green, the verdant color of the season. After the fashion presentation, an intime group of 30 was ushered into Mariposa for a private dinner prepared by top toque Barbara McKnight of Catering by Culinaire. The fabulous three-course seated repast was inspired by Wilkerson's recent African expedition, where he journeyed through Morocco, Ethiopia and Tanzania; consequently, the menu featured nods to those cuisines, but prepared with fresh local ingredients, from a Moroccan orange salad to free-range chicken accompanied by chickpea crêpe, segueing into semolina coffee pudding. Out of Africa: Recipe Paula Mott for Success founder Gracie Cavnar and husband Bob, who memorably opted for a Celtic look by donning a black kilt; Neiman Marcus ringleader Bob Devlin with colleague Stacey Swift; Diane Lokey Farb; Yvonne Cormier; Rosemary Schatzman; Little Black Dress founder Jeff Shell; Roz Pactor; Katherine Avery Guillot; Monica Abney; Vicki Rizzo and daughter Mauri Oliver; Katy and Chad Atlas; Jill Roth; Terrie Turner; Paula Mott; Parissa Mohajer; Kate Loverin; Adele Hollander; Kelly Coleman; Meghan Lee; Cynthia Coleman; Tarek El-Bjeirmi; and Bethany Buchanan. ANSPON SURVEYS THE SOCIAL SCULPTURE. PHOTOGRAPHY CHRIS BROWN. A spring tradition continued with the Neiman Marcus and PaperCity magazine-sponsored Dallas Art Fair kickoff — a sizzling Houston evening of clinking cocktails and buzzy anticipation of the Fair that would open weeks later at Fashion Industry Gallery in the Dallas Arts District. And where to hold such a convergence of collectors, museum folks and top-tier artists? Graciously opening up her extraordinary cutting-edge collection of red-hot Chinese artists rubbing shoulders with YBAs (whose names end in Hirst and Chapman), Jereann Chaney welcomed more than 200 of our town's art smartest to The Chaney Collection. As befitting the occasion, Dallas Art Fair founders John Sughrue and Chris Byrne jetted in, joined by colleagues Beth Shapiro and Kelly Coppock, part of the Dallasheadquartered team who annually curate and produce this Texas-based international Fair. A Fare Extraordinaire crafted bites and libations, while we spotted Houston exhibitors Deborah Colton, Laura Rathe, Lee Pineda with Moody Gallery, and Patrick Reynolds of Inman Gallery, all dishing with Sughrue and Byrne.
