T he opening of The Halles this past March represented an innovative marriage of media with design, antiquing, and art. And so they flocked — for high-energy, elevated shopping days and foodie-and- music filled nights. With its robust Fall Show Guide, we see another leap in fulfilling its prophecy of being the gateway to all things Round Top and a launching point to all its great partners. Stepping up as sponsors for The Halles' fall edition, spun around its hospitality Pavilion and seven handsome Halles, are: Benjamin Moore, rubylane. com, Circa Lighting, Perennials and Sutherland, and Moderno Porcelain Works. Thrillingly, Benjamin Moore anchors its Color of the Year Texas Party (Wednesday, October 27, by invitation or with a Halles VIP Experience ticket) and the debut of the Colors of Round Top Collection at The Halles. For the Colors of Round Top, Benjamin Moore approached Houston designer Mary Lambrakos of Lambrakos Studio, who made a series of road trips to craft a palette of 80 Benjamin Moore paint colors inspired by the land, history, nature, and sights of Round Top and environs. (Hint: Locales from Festival Hill to the oldest structure in Fayette County provided material for the designer's eye.) "The Colors of Round Top is an inquiry into understanding the soul of a place in its particular palette that naturally arises from the landscape," Lambrakos says. Visitors to The Halles VIP Pavilion will see the Colors of Round Top made visible: Lambrakos highlights the handsome wood of The Halles barn-like structure, creating an abstract, syncopated rhythm that the designer sees as equal parts Ellsworth Kelly, Carlos Cruz-Diez, and Sol LeWitt, with a dose of Mondrian. In Design Halle 4, you'll find Houston's Domingue & Co. (as in Chateau Domingue), showing their range of lime-wash, mineral-paint, and plaster samples; new and reclaimed stone; custom steel doors; and European architectural elements. M. Naeve, inspired by founder Margaret Naeve's penchant for combining important vintage and contemporary pieces, highlights antique and vintage Italian, French, and Swedish design, in addition to contemporary lines. Dallas designer Chad Dorsey presents his stunning Strike collection of sculptural stone fireplaces in marble and limestone in French Quarter and honed finishes, as well as compelling furniture and objects. In Design Halle 2, Lambrakos Studio will make its Round Top debut, with a lineup of celebrated American designer-helmed brands: Skram Furniture, Yucca Stuff, and Bower Studios. Skram's Jacob Marks, Yucca's Daniel Morrison, and Bower's Jeffrey Renz make personal appearances at Lambrakos' booth. Completing this lineup is an installation and faux-bois furnishings by Houston talent George Sacaris, paintings by Eduardo Portillo from Barbara Davis Gallery, glass objects by artist Susan Plum, and accessories from Shop. Also find in Design Halle 2, Bonnie Achariyakosol's BR Interior Designs' home collection with globally inspired vintage furniture, objects, and art. Acclaimed Houston estate jeweler Wayne Smith Jewels (who stocks bijoux of pedigree) also holds court in Design Halle 2, as does Dennis Lyons Interiors, known for extraordinary 18th- and 19th-century furniture and objects. Joey Sabb Rugs returns to the south side of property. Also confirmed and shopping worthy: Around the Bend, Found Images, Lisa Gillette's Liesel Farm, artist Cheryl Long/ Pure West, The Neutral Nest, and jeweler Heather Benjamin. Savor bites at the Blind Fox food truck, led by Culinary Institute- and Cordon Bleu-trained chefs, serving Spanish cuisine, with a twist. Quench your thirst with a full-bar, and bubbles from the Champagne Shack. Exciting events are also on the menu, best taken in via the just-launched Round Top VIP Experience package. Secure a VIP ticket through The Halles, $150 per day, extra days $80; see all the perks and purchase your tickets at tickets.roundtop.com. The Halles, 1465 N.
