14 CALLING ALL DESIGNERS KIPS BAY DECORATOR SHOW HOUSE DALLAS K ips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas has announced the 2022 dates, and it's time for designers to apply to create a room. The third annual Dallas show house opens Thursday, September 22, and runs through October 23. Jean Liu, Chad Dorsey, and Jan Showers return as co-chairs, with vice-chairs Laura Lee Falconer and Trish Sheats, also repeating their roles. Jamie Drake and Veranda editor in chief Steele Marcoux serve as honorary chairs. Veranda magazine takes the lead as national media sponsor, with PaperCity magazine and D Home serving as local media sponsors. About 25 designers are selected via committee to participate in Kips Bay Dallas and will be selected from Dallas, throughout Texas, and across the U.S. Nazira Handal, director of special events and corporate sponsorships for Kips Bay, is your go-to contact. Questions, contact, 862.452.9705. I t's the reason Dallas has eclipsed every other city in Texas as a 21st- century nexus for collecting and visual culture. Cue Dallas Art Fair, which returns to Fashion Industry Gallery next month with its robust, full-sized 14th edition featuring 85 international, national, and Texas galleries. (Dallas Arts Month, staged annually in April, is on.) Expect big players including global powerhouse Perrotin; iconic-to-cool NYC dealers Kasmin and Karma; and a surge of L.A. action including Louis Stern Fine Arts, Night Gallery, and Various Small Fires (L.A., Seoul), which also unveils a Dallas outpost timed to the opening of the fair. These galleries join a lineup of 15 Texas-founded galleries, including new fair arrival Martha's Contemporary from Austin. "I'm very excited for a return to our spring dates, and having a full fair," says fair director Kelly Cornell. "Many of our galleries from abroad will join us again, and we'll be back to our full capacity. Once again, we'll be raising funds to put works from READY, SET, COLLECT: DALLAS ART FAIR EDITION 14 the fair into the Dallas Museum of Art's permanent collection." What's new this year? "We're working with more design galleries as we develop our foothold in the world of design," she says. "We also have an increase of exhibiting galleries from Mexico.
