14 JEWELS OF NOTE B r a z i l i a n j e w e l e r S i l v i a Furmanovich brings her award-winning jewelry collection to Houston to Elizabeth Anthony. In her quest to keep artisanal craftsmanship alive, she works with wood marquetry, ebony, oxidized copper, vintage lacquer, miniature paintings, shells, woven bamboo and antique netsukes, pairing these with yellow and rose gold, diamonds, and dazzling Brazilian gemstones. She has spent weeks in the Amazon rainforest watching marquetry artists at work and has journeyed to Udaipur to study artists who paint exquisitely detailed scenes onto camel bone with the tiniest of animal hairs. She's won the Couture Design Award multiple times, and her India Collection garnered the Collection of the Year at the Town & Country Jewelry Awards in 2019. Her slipcased monograph, Silvia Furmanovich (Assouline), is available through Amazon. Silvia Furmanovich at Elizabeth Anthony, 1180 Uptown Park Blvd., elizabethanthonyhouston.com.
