THE WHIRL OF CHRISTOPHER MARTIN A d a r l i n g o f t h e Aspen art scene, C h r i s t o p h e r Martin launched his Houston gallery with a trio of celebrations. Before the official opening of his new post on Upper Kirby District's Gallery Row, collectors were invited to an intimate soirée hosted by Kendall and Edward Ondarza at their Tanglewood home — a repository for several of Martin's large-scale, reverse-glass paintings. Edward commissioned Martin to wrap his Ferrari in artwork, and the canvas on wheels stole the show the following evening at the gallery opening. A host of guests filled the 2,000-square-foot gallery where Martin's art hung alongside works by Matt Neuman, sculptor Paul Bloch, artist Jeff Muhs, and American west photographer Steve Wrubel. (Martin also has galleries in Aspen, Vail, and Dallas.) Ride & Ridden winery's 2020 RIDE Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, whose bucking-bronco label was designed by Wrubel, was paired with chef/ restaurateur Charles Clark's glorious fare. A third fête was the gallery's official opening the following day.
