A round here, we're big fans of May: The school year wraps up, and summer vacation quietly sneaks in. But before we wrap up what has been a busy spring season, we still have a swirl of events to check off our social to-do list. First, we celebrate all things home-grown during Chefs for Farmers' Farm to Table Dinner on Sunday, May 1. Dallas' own food-and-wine festival has famously spotlighted local makers, farmers, growers, and chefs for a decade now — and we can't wait to celebrate the organization's 10-year anniversary with an all-star chef-driven dinner at Reeves Family Farm. Come Tuesday, May 3, we'll foray to the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center for The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Fashion Show & Luncheon. After a two-year COVID-era hiatus, we look forward to welcoming the annual fundraiser back. No doubt you'll find us shopping the event's legendary Chic Boutique — a covetable sale of donated, new, and gently used designer clothes, all sold to benefit The Salvation Army. We start our summer holiday a bit early on Thursday, May 12, during a Provence-themed ReuNight benefiting The Family Place. Led by honorary chair Shelle Sills and benevolent pals turned co-chairs Marisa Howard, Roni Proter Kelly, and PaperCity Dallas editor at large Max Trowbridge, the evening promises to be one for the record books as the powerhouse women raise much-needed funds for survivors of family violence who are seeking safe housing. To wrap up this whirlwind month, we make our way back to the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center on Monday, May 16, for the Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Chair Lisa Loy Laughlin, along with advisory chairs Nancy Gopez, Maggie Kipp, and Melinda Knowles, have been tirelessly working on the event, which was rescheduled due to COVID. Here's to a busy month filled with friends, fundraising, and (of course) plenty of fun. Brooke Dowdy Dallas Publisher brooke@papercitymag.com 24
