OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. R etail: Summer is on the horizon — and, in our town, a new season brings a great deal of buzz, beginning with NorthPark Center, which is buzzier than ever. While longtime luxury staple Burberry revamps its current space, with plans to open a new concept design this summer, several beloved retailers also make highly anticipated Dallas debuts this summer. First up is St. John, which opens on Level One near Neiman Marcus. Around the corner, luxury timepiece boutique Breitling arrives to the metroplex with its first stand-alone store, carrying its Swiss-made classics along with limited-edition styles. Finally, color enthusiasts and sustainability advocates, unite: Ganni, the Copenhagen-based label run by husband-and-wife duo Ditte Reffstrup and Nicolaj Reffstrup, opens on Level One between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. The brand has gained a cult-like following around the world with its laid-back, cool-girl aesthetic and sweet-spot pricing … Open now: Galleria Dallas welcomes the return of Gregory's (which first opened in the 1990s), carrying men's and women's apparel, shoes, and accessories by designers such as Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, and Moschino. For a feel-good buzz, head over to Galleria Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14, for the Alley Market, when more than a dozen female-owned vendors offer everything from jewelry to hats to skin care products. The market is noon to 5 pm, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Big Thought, a nonprofit that aids youth in marginalized communities. Social: Fashion and food are my two favorite F words — who can resist when put together. The annual Salvation Army Dallas Women's Auxiliary Fashion Show & Luncheon is at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center Tuesday, May 3, and includes a runway- style show with pieces donated from coveted Dallas closets and retailers. Art: If you need something more than May flowers to admire this month, you're in luck. Dallas collectors Cindy and Howard Rachofsky have been amassing art for more than 40 years and The Warehouse serves as their exhibition space outside of the Rachofsky House. The Warehouse's latest exhibition, "Out of Body, Out of Mind: Figurative Work from The Rachofsky Collection," offers a powerful lesson on figurative art and experimental forms (through May 28). The exhibition is informally curated by Howard Rachofsky, Gavin Delahunty, and Brendan Dungan of Karma gallery. Katherine Gring 28
