GUCCI (Continued on page 34) By Billy Fong. Photography Rebecca Patton. W h e n G u c c i c a l l s , y o u answer — n o matter what — since you never know what might be in store. Such was the case when I was invited to attend a recent pop-up that was appropriately dubbed the Gucci Dallas Space. I half-expected a trunk show with a dozen or so drool-worthy handbags on display while caterers handed out flutes of champagne. But I should have known better. Gucci does not roll that way. (After all, as I write these words, I'm watching the Academy Awards, waiting for the red-carpet moments from Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele; in addition to Billie Eilish and Bradley Cooper, he dressed Jessica Chastain, Best Actress winner for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, who wore a custom lilac purple tulle halter-neck gown embellished with sequins and an organza ruffled hem.) I pulled up to a contemporary Preston Hollow residence that looked like it was plucked straight from an HBO Max series about a tech- billionaire, vintage muscle cars perfectly staged in the drive. I later learned that the house was designed by well-known Dallas architect Lionel Morrison.
