W ith the opening of The Cabin by Wimberly, m e n f o l k n o w h a v e t h e i r o w n haberdashery in Round Top. Customers frequently asked Wimberly Shook Tribble — proprietor of The Round Top Star, Wimberly Inc., and The Little Cheese Shop in Round Top — where the men's goods were. Now she has an answer. The Cabin outfits the Texas gentleman with items bearing heritage craftsmanship, and beautiful materials. Vintage cowboy boots, vintage jackets, vintage and new hats, and a large assortment of new clothing from Texas-based brands Texas Standard (out of Austin) and Burlebo (of Dripping Springs) are ready to dress the Round Top weekend warrior, whether he's a rancher or a golfer (performance fabrics and guayaberas are offered in addition to western wear). Accessories and gifts abound, from small leather goods such as wallets and belts to hand-tooled leather accessories (duffels and luggage), turquoise jewelry, and leather dog collars and leashes. Of course, no Texas men's boutique is complete without bar accouterments — The Cabin has vintage barware from the 1920s through the '50s, whiskey carafes, bourbon-flavored toothpicks. and cocktail mixes. And, for the wife on a girls' trip, there are perfect take-home gifts: hats, T-shirts, and golf shirts with The Round Top Star logo. A combined grand-opening party for the Cabin and anniversary party for Wimberly's other shops is slated for Friday, October 21 — live music, light bites, cocktails, and pop-ups are in store.
