AT THE HALLES A STELLAR LINEUP of SPEAKERS and BOOK SIGNINGS C onsider this a mini-Texas Design Week, as we bring four dynamic designers to The Halles for talks and book signings, Friday, March 17, and Monday, March 27, as part of an extraordinarily design- packed Spring Round Top Antiques & Design Show. Here's the lineup. Friday, March 17, 9 to 11 am, at The Halles: Alessandra Branca in Conversation with Veranda editor in chief Steele Marcoux Morning Mimosas with designer Alessandra Branca and Veranda editor in chief Steele Marcoux. As Alessandra winds down from the opening of The Branca Bungalow at Red Antler Round Top, a year-in-the-making showhouse (see details on page 101), she discusses vernacular design with Steele in an illustrated talk, followed by Steele's book signing of Veranda at Home in the South: Interior Design Reimagined. Books will be for sale at the event. Branca is a celebrated designer with offices in Chicago, NYC, Palm Beach, and L.A. and designs Casa Branca, a collection of textiles, wallpapers, furnishings, and objects sold through showrooms around the world. The hallmark of any Branca interior is authenticity — reverence for craftsmanship, finely tuned proportion and scale, and rigorous attention to detail. Tickets $35, at Monday, March 27, 2 to 4 pm, at The Halles: Afternoon Wine, Illustrated Talk, and Book Signing with Suzanne Kasler Heralded as one of America's most influential interior designers, Suzanne Kasler has been named to such coveted lists as the AD 100, Elle Decor A-List ,and 1stDibs 50, and her work has been published in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and Veranda, among other publications. She designs collections for Hickory Chair, Visual Comfort, Ballard Designs, Lee Jofa, and La Cornue. Following her talk, Suzanne will sign her new book, Suzanne Kasler: Edited Style. Tickets $35, at Monday, March 27, 4 to 6 pm, at The Halles: Cocktails, Illustrated Talk, and Book Signing with Bobby McAlpine An icon among architects and designers, Bobby McAlpine delivers a powerfully poetic point of view. His projects have been published world- wide, and his firm is listed in the AD 100 and Elle Decor A-List. His furniture collection, McAlpine Home, is available worldwide.
