H ead to Halle 2 for Brett Millet and Crystal Nichols' antique and mid-century modern furniture and lighting, an exciting addition to The Halles' year-round program. Millet's and Nichols' astute eyes sleuth out unique vintage finds across Europe and the U.S., which are in turn beautifully restored and reupholstered. Also holding court in Halle 2 are returning bijoux retailers Heather Benjamin for nomadic jewelry and Covet Aspen's modern jewelry, where Round Top's stylish show-goers flock to get their Western vibe on. In Halle 3, beeline to ParaVida Wellness' charming bodega, an epicurean emporium stocked with healthy bites and national-award- winning sauces, salsa, jams and jellies, and wines from peachy Fredericksburg purveyor Fischer & Wieser. Nearby is the ParaVida Wellness food truck for java, smoothies, juices, wraps, and more, including breakfast options. Take a seat and enjoy your ParaVida bites and wine at Halle 3's delightful outdoor seating area adjoining Amadi Carpets. Speaking of which, this third-generation carpet company was founded in Afghanistan, where it currently employs as many as 200 women hand- looming its artisanal rugs. Known for bringing a weaver's background and vision to contemporary carpets, co-owner Taz Ahmadi unveils a collection of designer and architect's favorites, featuring the Kyoto, Fiji, and Nomad lines. In dialogue with the texture and materiality of Amadi Carpets' natural fibers are Sabine Maes Art's canvases, textiles, and sheepskins. The Belgian-based painter is the ideal creative for Round Top, with her reverence for Mother Earth, respect for the countryside, and use of raw ingredients from nature in her weaving and art making. After an extraordinarily successful show last fall, Maes now has an expanded presence in Halle 5 as well. Finally, at Halle 3, visit Starred Sky Development for a new take on living in the country, with architecturally informed homes for those that want to move beyond a big-box city house, or seek a second home that manifests outstanding design and a carefully considered footprint. HALLES 2 – 4 Ahmadi brothers Zubair, Assad, Zabi, Murtaza (Taz) Benjamin Moore's Annie Miranda-Sommer Mary Hoang-Do Halle 4 welcomes returning design haven M. Naeve. Founder Margaret Naeve is known for her unerring eye; extraordinary, understated interiors that whisper with importance; and her Houston showroom brimming with a collection of mid-century furniture along with elevated designs by significant contemporary creators. Another celebrated denizen of design, Carol Piper Rugs showcases antique, vintage, and new rugs, textiles, and pillows. Founder Carol Piper, an authority in the rug and textile world, brings knowledge spanning six decades, sourcing rare rugs and textiles from the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. Neighboring M. Naeve and Carol Piper Rugs is Christopher Martin Gallery, a returning exhibitor contributing to The Halles' thrilling art wave. The gallery features founder Christopher Martin's ongoing collection of abstract reverse-painted acrylic panels whose inspirations are often found in nature; Steve Wrubel's dramatic photographic odes to horse and rider, a coveted series photographed across the great American West that speaks to the Texas ranching tradition and has been wildly embraced by designers; the environmentally inspired photography of the earth's surface by Kevin Krautgartner; Brooklyn-based Matt Neuman's vibey geometric paintings and prints, which have a fabulous '70s disco aesthetic; Gabriel and Angela Collazo's collaborative Collazo Collection, symbol-rich works including their Iron Ore Elements series formed from textured fiber art; Southern California talent Robert Grad's cool photo-based collages; lyrical graffiti-based canvases by Amber Goldhammer, where street art meets Valentine's Day; Liz Barber's expansive abstracts inspired by ocean and water; and A.J. Oishi, a Seattle-raised, Ohio-based self-taught talent whose obsessive pointillism is meditative mark-making at its most extreme.
