OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. Retail: Over the last few months, we've shared a lot of luxury boutique news. At NorthPark Center, Gucci's expansion opens soon, Prada is set to premiere in 2024, and recently opened stores where you can plop down your Amex Black Card include Breitling and Maison Margiela, with Jil Sander and Marni to come. We've also heard whispers of Dior potentially moving within Highland Park Village, and coming soon, Balmain, Brioni, Loewe, and Simkhai will all have brick- and-mortar spaces in HPV … More exciting buzz involves Crawford Brock's grand plans for Stanley Korshak. This bastion of luxury is known for pampering its clients (not customers) with lavish service. A little primer for those who might not already be a devoted fan: There was a real Stanley Korshak who founded his namesake establishment in 1909 in Chicago. When it closed in the early 1980s, Caroline Rose Hunt bought the rights to the name and opened the Dallas department store, which housed the biggest designers of the era in the courtyard of shops at the Crescent Hotel. Brock has managed the store since 1987 and purchased it from the legendary Mrs. Hunt in 2002. Like many a Dallas grande dame, the store is getting a facelift, starting with a recently reimagined Brunello Cucinelli shop-in- shop prominently located to the right when you enter the front doors. Clients will also find standalone bars scattered throughout the various departments in the coming months, because who doesn't need a cocktail or bubbles when doing a marathon shopping session. To assist with said sessions, beloved private shopper Marina Gray will soon have an expanded salon on the second floor to work with her loyal clients. And finally, Stanley Korshak will open a cafe. Crawford was very hush-hush about the details but said it would likely be a lunch-only spot on the ground floor, adjacent to the Crescent courtyard escalators … Need a fabulous new day bag for all those lunches on your schedule? Head to Grange Hall, one of our favorite boutiques with the most precisely curated assortment of goodies. That stylish crew (helmed by Rajan and Jeffrey — only first names are needed when referring to these two) devises a chic trunk show to attend every few months. Pop in now to order a bespoke handbag from Pramma. We fell in love when we saw the pre-made options in a variety of shades and exquisite fabrics with whimsical ornamentation at the clasp. The line was launched in 2014 by Stefania Pramma, and each bag is handmade in Italy by skilled craftsman who somehow eradicate all unnecessary seams. There's even something for your four-legged bestie: Pramma dog collars. Or go the bespoke route so your pup never has to worry about someone else wearing the same collar at the dog park. Sports: Yes, every couple of months we come up with something befitting this category. Given our infatuation with the 1980s, we were ecstatic to hear that a roller-skating rink will open in the Design District this fall at 1001 North Riverfront Boulevard. They Buzz YOUR EVER-BUZZY PAPERCITY BEE HAS LOTS TO REPORT THIS MONTH. HE'S GOT THE SWEET SCOOP ON WHAT'S PREMIERING IN DALLAS AND WHAT'S HAPPENING AT OUR FAVORITE HAUNTS. IF YOU SEE HIM AND HAVE SOME NEWS, BE SURE TO SHARE. pitched us: "Imagine it's a Saturday night in 1986: Madonna's latest single is blasting, neon leggings are all the rage, and groups of friends are piling in line to the town's hangout spot, the roller-skating rink." Sign us up for some of that eight-wheeled fun. Named Ride On and the brainchild of On Brand Hospitality Group, the spot will be an adults-only scene with chef-driven cuisine, a roster of DJs manning the state-of-the-art sound system, cocktail lounge, and even an arcade. (Please let there be Ms. Pac-Man.) We're already planning our outfit — something with a back pocket for a comb, so we can look '80s appropriate — for the launch party. Beauty: For those who swear by environmentally conscious beauty, book an appointment at Paloma Nail Salon in Snider Plaza. The salon — with five stations for pedicures and three for manicures — is completely free of harmful chemicals, which are commonly used in nail salons in the U.S. but are banned in Europe and Australia. It's the perfect spot to host parties for your crew of friends who care about the footprint they're leaving on the world. Social: Oops, we spoke too soon when we predicted that our Smythson datebooks would be completely open après Memorial Day. First off, on Saturday, June 3, head to Equest's Blue Ribbon Gala, this year titled Soaring to New Heights. Held at the Texas Horse Park and chaired by Lindsay Ballotta and Jenny Merkle, it's one occasion when guests switch out their Blahnik heels for Miron Crosby cowboy boots. Equest's mission is to enhance the quality of life for children and adults with diverse needs through equine-assisted activities and therapies … That same weekend, June 3 and 4, you can celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dallas Pride at Fair Park. Saturday is the music festival; Sunday is the annual Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade. Find some friends or bring the family, as these all-age events are a joyous celebration honoring the LGBTQ+ community, its allies, sponsors, and supporters. What else is on our schedule this month? Well, we're already receiving invites to a slew of weddings and are optimistic about finally catching the bouquet.
