W hat I will dub March M a d n e s s — unless, of course, that name has already been taken (#dontknowsports) — was followed by April Aperols and May Mischievous Mojito-ing. One of the first invites to which I quickly responded "Oui" was a dinner to celebrate the new Precious skincare line from French makeup powerhouse Clarins. The luxury house summoned a group of girls (and moi) with hosts Kimberly Schlegel Whitman and Kasey Lemkin. I've adored Kim for as long as I can remember, and Kasey is a relatively new friend, since she moved here a year ago with her husband and three kids from Southern California. I was excited to see this new transplant's home — and I was not disappointed, as my Alto made its way down the long and winding driveway in Preston Hollow. After air-kisses in the foyer, I explored, encountering room after enchanting room, all with stunning wallpaper and, of course, glorious flowers from Avant Garden. Care had been taken in those floral choices, as the Precious collection is derived from a moonlight flower that blooms one night a year on the coast of Brittany in France. During our little catch-up session over glasses of rosé, I spied one of my favorite people — Cassandra Tomasetti from Art 2 Catering — and I knew then that I was in for a meal that I would actually enjoy. (Let's be honest: We all go to enough events where we simply shift food around on our plates.) And, to make my evening all the better, my end of the long, beautifully decorated table had guests Brooke Hortenstine, Suzanne Droese, and Meredith Land. Cocktails and some terribly juicy gossip were as tasty as the dinner. Other well- heeled girls included Zoe Bonnette, Rochelle Gores, Emberli Pridham, Abi Perpall, Amanda Shufeldt, and Krystal Schlegel Davis. Next up was a party thrown by Vogue Latin America's head of content, Karla Martinez de Salas, to celebrate the opening of the South to North pop-up at Neighborhood Goods. It was held at one of my go-to spots for a cocktail in chic environs, Clifton Club. I was excited to finally meet the duo behind South to North: Alejandra Bravo and Luisa Babarczy, female entrepreneurs inspired by their heritage, culture, and design. "LATAM brands and talent were hitting a glass ceiling in their markets, and the next logical step to expand was to come to the USA," Bravo said. Girls sipping By Billy Fong and Olivia Ward.
