Fashion Notes By Steven Hempel I write this on the 14th day of August — coincidentally, the 14th straight day over 100 degrees in our l o v e l y l i t t l e oven. Thoughts of summer bliss have long faded from memory, r e p l a c e d b y t h o u g h t s o f going far, far away — anywhere to find relief from our endless Texas summer. For like-minded individuals, Louis Vuitton thoughtfully offers us two new volumes in its Fashion B alenciaga has launched an 18-piece gold capsule collection, debuting across all Americas on Thursday, September 14. To that, we say, "Yay, gold!" Prada, not to be left out of the gold rush, launched its own golden collection, this one featuring pink gold. With four new works joining its Eternal Gold collection, the sustainable re c y c l e d g o l d j e w e l r y a d d s a 20th-century ethos to a centuries-old art form. We continue our fandom, and Prada keeps on Prada- ing. Silent clap, folks. F endi launched its first high jewelry collection under the guidance of artistic director of jewelry Delfina Delettrez Fendi at the Autumn/Winter 2023 Couture show in Paris. Delettrez Fendi, the fourth- generation heiress of the Fendi family, has made quite a name for herself in a short amount of time. She began her journey into the world of jewelry through her namesake line and became the youngest designer to be showcased at the Louvre's Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. She now manages both her eponymous line and Fendi's jewelry program. Fendi Triptych is a three-part collection of one-off works fusing Roman architecture, natural motifs, and graphic abstraction with The Golden Age Modern Classic with a Heart of Gold stunning results. This is a story of gleaming white diamonds and icy shades of pale pink and yellow with articulated gold chain necklaces, drop pendants, cocktail rings, and a reinterpretation of the tennis bracelet. This elegant collection, while forward-thinking, recalls the house's history with cut stones that remind us of the iconic Baguette bag, with the famous FF motif disappearing and reappearing amongst the pieces. fendi.com. Eye collection of photography books. Fashion Eye Italian Rivieras relives the splendor of the Italian coast from the 1960s to 1980s, as seen through the lens of legendary photographer Slim Aarons. For those dreaming (praying) of a more tropical setting, LV has you covered with Fashion Eye Tahiti, shot by French photographer Jonathan Llense, and providing a different view of the tropic locale. Llense spent a month photographing the island and its close neighbors, depicting not just the sand and palms, but also the less seen — the ordinary — in this paradise.
