Cotton King Wall- to-Wall Wellness T he $200 million online linens company Boll & Branch has debuted a massive brick-and- mortar flagship in Dallas on Knox Street, near home furnishing powerhouses RH, Crate & Barrel, and Pottery Barn. Founded in 2014 by Scott and Missy Tannen, the company is known for its certified organic and fair trade cotton sheeting and bedding. At two stories high and 3,300 square feet, the new Dallas store is the largest of the brand's six locations — including a just-opened Houston store — and is ample enough to showcase its newly launched furniture collection of bed frames, benches, and dressers, which join an existing collection of throws, decorative pillows, mattresses, robes, sleepwear, rugs, and candles. Boll & Branch best sellers include signature hemmed sheets and duvet sets, a waffle bed blanket, down duvet inserts and pillows, and plush bath towel sets. Boll & Branch, 313 Knox St. RS M aya Crowne had a successful career on Wall Street when she m e t e n t re p re n e u r Price Latimer. The two women bonded over a mutual interest in wellness, nature, art, and design, soon turning their business and creative know-how into a new venture. In 2021, they founded Alkemis, a revolutionary quartz-based interior wellness paint with minerals and ingredients that are free from toxic pollutants and VOCs. It's also mold resistant, water repellent, and nonflammable; due to a high pH, it's also hygienic. Alkemis is one of the only paint companies in North America to be Cradle to Cradle Certified. The company spent three years in research and development before launching in May — and the buzz has already kicked in. Similar to ancient paintings whose palettes included ochre, oxides, lazurite, cobalt, spinel, and antimony, Alkemis pigments its paints with artist-quality earth minerals to create a spectrum of 119 colors. The high mineral content also produces a naturally luminous and durable finish that the company says lasts for decades. Minerals and ingredients are sourced in Europe, and the paints are made to order by hand in the United States. Alkemis paints, $120 per gallon, alkemispaint.com. Rebecca Sherman OBSESSIONS.
