H arvey Probber (1922- 2003), one of the most influential modern designers of the 20th century, pioneered a mainstay in homes from the last 65 years — the sectional/modular sofa. Collectors are rediscovering Probber's work, and in a partnership with the estate of Harvey Probber and licensed by M2L, RH Modern has reissued three of the original collections. The Deep Tuft sectional, designed in 1972, was inspired by luxury car upholstery with exaggerated tufting that defined the 1970s. The Cubo Raked sectional was designed in 1974, and Probber's ode to Postmodernism, the Mayan Sofa, was designed in 1983.
