O ne of our favorite months of the year is April, when Salone del Mobile takes place in Milan. Packed with events by leading brands, with installations created by some of the world's best-known designers and architects, we know we're going to be exhausted, excited, and inspired by this week of elevated design. FURNITURE & OBJECTS • Dimorestudio's Occupazione illustrated how different ideas can coexist, with objects, scents, and experiences via brands such as Aesop, Bonacina 1889, and Maison Royère, among others. • Nilufar's 12 Chairs for Meditation revealed digital artist and designer Andrés Reisinger's theatrical narrative Konditoreien, the bar was a time capsule showcasing craftsmanship. • Kohler's Terminal 02 installa- tion was a large-scale, maze-like installation of industrial pipes, featuring the Kohler Eir smart toilet with a Brutalist silhouette, inspired by the power of water in nature. The installation sat incongruously and creatively within the grand pillars of the historic Palazzo del Senato. • A plaster workshop on the northern edge of Brera saw the debut of Interni Venosta, a furniture brand launched by Dimorestudio; the name pays homage to designer Carla Venosta, whose contemporary interpretation of domestic objects influenced 1970s Italian design. ALEJANDRO RAMIREZ OROZCO (Continued) with a new collection of chairs and a site-specific mosaic. • Verner Panton Design AG at 10 Corso Como was a collaboration with the estate of Danish architect and designer Verner Panton (1926 – 1998), one of the most innovative designers of the 20th century. "Panton Lounge" was produced in collaboration with Panton licensees Vitra, Verpan, &Tradition, and Montana and premiered the re-edition of the Domino and Romantica rug by Amini and the Spiegel acoustic panel by Offecct. • The Rimowa X La Marzocco Linea Mini espresso machine took center stage at the Caffè Rimowa pop- up at Spazio Maiocchi with scenography designed by Nuova Group.
