BARBECUE SPOT. David Droese: Terry Black's BBQ, brisket. Evan Meagher: Cattleack Barbecue. Tip: Get there at least 30 minutes before it opens. If you aren't in line when they open, they're likely to be out of a lot of things by the time you get to the counter. Michelle Nussbaumer: Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse — hands down, the Inwood location. Old-school barbecue Texas-style. Sonny, while he was alive, would park his Rolls-Royce behind the barbecue shack. It must have been pretty lucrative! Shelle Sills: For a salad girl, I can forget the calories and eat my body weight in pulled pork barbecue, brisket, and reubens at the one-and-only Meat Shop on Lovers Lane. From center: Coconut cream cake at Mister Charles. Teak Tearoom at The Conservatory. COMFORT FOOD (CODE FOR HANGOVER). Bradley Agather: My husband and I fell in love over Sunday lunches spent hungover at Maple & Motor. Twelve years later, and my order is still the same: cheeseburger with everything, plus onion rings. And, if I'm really hungover, a Dr Pepper. Brian Bolke: Oysters Rockefeller at Bistro 31. Z o e B o n n e t t e : Greenville Street Tacos, a dive-y Mexican spot that's open 24 hours, has a disco ball, serves boba tea, and most orders come with French fries. Need I say more. David Droese: Bubba's Cooks Country fried chicken. Missy Peck: Glop from Teak Tearoom or the double cheeseburger from Beverly's Bistro & Bar, with a side of latkes — extra caviar, please. EVENTS ENTERTAINMENT COCKTAILING. Bradley Agather: The Mansion Bar. My husband and I love to meet there on Friday afternoons after work for a quick martini power hour. I love the table in the very back right corner — but, truthfully, I don't think there's a single bad spot at The Mansion Bar. Is there? Brian Bolke: Right now, it's a vodka gimlet, very cold, at the bar at Café Pacific. David Droese: Las Almas Rotas — Mezonte. Michelle Nussbaumer: Jack and Coke at Dunston's Steakhouse on Lovers Lane. Missy Peck: The Mansion Bar for a cold dirty martini with a side of fries. Or a dirty martini with clam pie at 5 pm Thursdays at Bacari Tabu. GO-TO TAKEOUT WHEN HOSTING A DINNER PARTY. Bradley Agather: Parigi always hits the spot. Or, when in doubt, fried chicken from Bubba's Cooks Country, served family-style from a silver platter. Brian Bolke: Pizzana keeps it easy. Maggie Kipp: Of course, Evan's Meat Market, since I'm a Louisiana girl. An amazing assortment of dips (pimento cheese, pastrami dip, and herbed French onion Greek yogurt dip) and ready- made and frozen sides. Also, always on my list are his sausage pouffes, mini beef Wellington, and beyond-delicious chicken salad. Cindy Rachofsky: Grange Hall has the best takeout, which continually changes. Cindy Rachofsky: Always Mexican … and generally José. Reed Robertson: Obviously, it's Whataburger. Or Shug's, if Whataburger isn't serving taquitos. Robert Weatherly: Doce Mesas, burgers. Cindy Rachofsky: Dirty martini at home, Cindy's Margarita [she's one of the chosen tipplers to actually have a cocktail named for her — BF] at home or at The Conservatory. Reed Robertson: The Grapevine Bar and sit as close to the exit as possible. Kit Sawers: After a long week of events at Klyde Warren Park, I like to fast-track it to the corner bar stool at Café Pacific. Three words: Paloma stat, please. And, of course, Katy Trail Ice House, for the full highbrow/ lowbrow experience. Jan Showers: The Mansion Bar. Sit in the banquettes nearest the bar. Lucia Simek: The Avion at Jettison — a mezcal situation of extraordinary subtlety and kick. Maggie Kipp: Sclafani's. OMG, the Park Avenue Sandwich — lox, blueberry bagel (for the sweet), and tons of capers (for the salt fix). Evan Meagher: Cindi's. Michelle Nussbaumer: Cindi's, I've been going there since grammar school. Their blintzes are to die for. Missy Peck: Cindi's. Reed Robertson: Cindi's is the only answer. Black and white cookie is the only answer. PREP ADVICE ON THE DAY OF DMA ART BALL, CRYSTAL CHARITY, TWO X TWO. Brian Bolke: Facial with Alexis Badami, then a nap. Zoe Bonnette: The Sunless Diva (she comes to my house) if I want a spray tan and for makeup I use Jack at Cos Bar. David Droese: Tequila. Jan Showers: A nap — nights here are a marathon not a sprint.
