Patsy Fourticq he en plein air tableaux at Chateau Domingue for New York designer David Kleinberg and chic collaborator Chesie Breen, in honor of Kleinberg's new decorating book Traditional Now: Interiors by David Kleinberg (penned by Breen), was a dream of statuary, stone, cobbles and sparkly lights created by Chateau D's Ruth Gay. Cocktails were quaffed, Kleinberg spoke, and he and Breen inscribed tomes and chatted with a rapt crowd that included Chateau Domingue proprietor Ruth and husband Jack Gay, Carol Piper, Julie Koch, George Lancaster, Karen Minott, Maximilian Sinsteden, Sheridan Williams, Ryan Reitmeyer, and Sir Mark Haukohl. David Kleinberg Steven & Cabrina Owsley Gretchen McFarland Chesie Breen Shelby Hodge Meanwhile, margaritas called, and Kleinberg and Breen, with a posse in tow, adjourned to Greg Fourticq Jr.'s personal Stonehenge, a stunning modernist monolith. The well-designed crowd: Chesie Breen's mother-in-law Pat Breen, Sara Dodd-Spickelmier, John and Becca Cason Thrash, Shelby Hodge and Shafik Rifaat, Patsy and Greg Fourticq, Randy Powers, Bill Caudell, Gretchen and Andrew McFarland, Libby Cagle, Ann and Mathew Wolf, Martha Finger, Renee Lewis Cary, Cabrina and Steven Owsley, Windi Grimes, and Lisa Sherrill. Party Query If you were an antiquity (object, place, person), what/whom would you be? Randy Powers: Priceless! Greg Fourticq Jr.: Blackman Cruz in L.A. Sara Dodd-Spickelmier: Place des Vosges. John Thrash: Trajan's Column after which Vendome Column (obelisk) is modeled. Bill Caudell: Our Pierre-Antoine Foullet (one of Louis XVI's favorite ébénistes) commode we bought in Paris a decade ago. Julie Koch: La Bocca della Verità – The Mouth of Truth. Full of mystery and surely a source for a very precious commodity in ancient time: water. And everyone knows I am all about beautiful water. George Lancaster: Obviously Michelangelo's David, but with a fig leaf. A little mystery can work in one's favor.
