A beautiful crowd gathered chez John and Becca Cason Thrash to fête a new fashion label, Pam & Gela, designed by Juicy Couture founding femmes, Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor. Ramping up to their personal appearance (aptly titled Hang-Over Party on the invitation) at Tootsies the following day, the party brought out the young, thin and fabulous who lap up the L.A. casual vibe explored in Pam & Gela's new collection. An equally thrilling attraction was Gela's husband, rock star John Taylor of Duran Duran, who rode along with the girls from their home in Los Angeles. Sharing hosting duties with Becca was Tootsies owner Mickey Rosmarin, along with a dynamite list of notable names, all thrilled to have a fun night off from charity auctions and table hopping. Heavenly co-hosts: Lindley Arnoldy, Francine Ballard, Sabiha Rehmatulla, Sara Dodd, Diane Lokey Farb, Allie Fields, Melissa Mithoff, Phoebe Tudor, Katherine Phelps, Greggory Burk, Caroline Starry LeBlanc, and Stephanie Cockrell, among others, along with Leah Hale, Christine Falgout and Bill Gutknecht, Sima and Masoud Ladjevardian, designer Amir Taghi, jewelry designer Katie Decker Currie and mom Liz Decker, Greg Fourticq Jr., Karen Henry, Luba Bigman, Katie Brass, Claire Cormier Thielke, Brenda Jones, Fady Armanious, Chris Goins, Neal Hamil, Shannon Hall, Ceron and Todd Fiscus, Jeff Shell, Mark Sullivan, Winnie Simmons, Haydeh Davoudi, Heidi Kashani, Michele Mendenhall, and Carolyn Tanner. All in all, a verrrry glam night. Be our guest at the best parties in Houston and Dallas. Visit papercitymag.com for more party pics online. MORE THAN CHILD'S PLAY Two hundred-plus fans flocked to Tootsies to greet Houston's Debbie Pakzaban, author of the whimsical children's book Lord Fancy Pants, who arrived with daughters Ashley and Lexy and husband Peyman. Her tale for tots debuted amidst champagne and bites courtesy of Ouisie's Table — not to mention a five-foot Fancy Pants cake decked out with Swarovski crystals. The rollout included a special appearance by Velvet Slipper Divine's refurbished Airstream trailer, where copies of the book were sold (a portion of the proceeds benefitted Texas Children's Hospital). Rounding out the day was a spirited "Best Fancy Pants" competition, judged by Tootsies' creative director Fady Armanious. Looking for a sign(ing): Theresa Roemer, Jeff Shell, Romy Mitchell, Jacquie Baly, and emcee Michael Pearce. THE LITERATI Design devotees descended from near and far (some traveling for nearly three hours) to commune with Boston blogger and design guru Erin Gates, who visited Tootsies to sign her first book, Elements of Style. Gates' signature look, leopard print, made appearances in the crowd, with a line snaking through the store to meet Miz Gates.
