Jenny Price and Betty Puryear did chair honors for the afternoon benefitting Assistance League of Houston, while Elizabeth Anthony boutique orchestrated the sumptuous fashion show, headlined by designers Escada, Versace, Zac Posen, Monique Lhuillier and more. The 275 guests turned out to pay tribute to honoree Linda McReynolds, who's known for her decades of chairing memorable fund-raisers for causes ranging from the Houston Symphony to Bayou Bend. But there was also another surprise: Mary Jo Peckham's own daughters, honorary chairs Ann Berry, Leila Gilbert, and Liz Jameson, along with their brother Walt Peckham, surprised their uncle Earl Lester with a special celebration for his 100th birthday. On the front row: Ginger Blanton; Joan Schnitzer Levy; Jan Carson, gracious as emcee); Molly Crownover; Susan Glesby; and the honoree's daughters Larkin McReynolds and Merritt Marinelli. RUNWAY RENDEZVOUS Salvation Army + Assistance League's Fashionable Fêtes BY ERIN OPPENHEIM. PHOTOGRAPHY KIM COFFMAN, JOHN LEECH. GOING GREEN FOR THE GREEN For the past 10 years, the Women's Auxiliary of the Salvation Army has engaged in the ultimate form of recycling: going through closets and culling beautiful designer frocks, suits and accessories for the annual Reflections on Style Chic Boutique, Runway Show and Luncheon. This year, more than 500 of our town's most fashionable arrived at River Oaks Country Club to snap up coveted looks and catch a fabulous runway production choreographed by Lenny Matuszewski. Let us tell you, these are no secondhand threads. With many price tags still attached, they've come from our finest retails establishments, with pedigrees by designers from Oscar to Valentino. For those that have been worn before, one can only imagine the places. Lynn Wyatt to Phoebe Tudor donate exquisite looks, while Diane Lokey Farb annually contributes suits from her Chanel-laden closet — if you're a size two, you're in luck. Among the ardent, charitable chicas raising a record $622,000: chair Brenda DeVore; honorary chair and founding president Lilly Andress; honoree Janice McNair; Chic Boutique co- chairs Debbie Rogers and Jeanne Ruberti; Tara Conley; Rose Cullen; Linda McReynolds; Cynthia Petrello; and Jeanie Kilroy Wilson.
