PERFECT PAS DE DEUX: VAN CLEEF & ARPELS AND HOUSTON BALLET AT MAISON THRASH Catherine D. Anspon reports on one fabled night. Photography Fulton Davenport. THE CURTAIN RISES I n keeping with her role as Houston Ballet board VP of special events, Becca Cason Thrash once again stepped onto the social stage to chair and host, with husband John, an epic evening for the company, following such storied ballet fêtes chez Thrash as Dancing with the Stars. The occasion was literally — and liberally — edged in diamonds, gold, and platinum, and encrusted with the most precious gemstones to suit the unveiling toast for Van Cleef & Arpels' new jewel-box boutique in River Oaks District. The setting segued from cocktails in the allée of crape myrtle trees on the grounds of the Thrash Memorial home to timeless and grand candlelight and roses around the very formal dinner tables devised by Richard Flowers of The Events Company. Models glided among the guests in seven-figures of opulent bijoux. 46 Alain Bernard Romy Mitchell Valerie Sarofim The late Mickey Rosmarin Charles Clark Bo Hopson Courtney Hopson Dene Oliver Shamika Johnson Host and chair Becca Cason Thrash, Nicolas Bos Jim Nelson Phoebe Tudor Duyen Huynh Nguyen Yvonne Cormier Claire Cormier Thielke Lauren Nguyen Misha Nguyen Melissa Mithoff Michael Gamson Mise en scène chez Thrash Bo Lane Pershant Mehta Nidhika Mehta Randall Wong Ali Ansari Cenk Ozdogan Fay Zakhem Lora Lane
