Photography Wilson Parish. 60 This year's Glassell Benefit, dubbed "Yellow Submarine: All You Need is Glassell," saluted the Beatles and their psychedelic era. A vintage Volkswagen bus, painted by Holly Ross, welcomed 250 guests to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's Caroline Wiess Law Building. Inside, Cullinan Hall channeled the animated film Yellow Submarine via polka-dot projections, brightly colored linens, and kaleidoscopic flower arrangements atop every table. Ticket to Ride Benevolent benefactors Nancy and Rich Kinder (he's MFAH board chair), Mary and Bernie Arocha, Rania Daniel, Aliyya Stude, gallerist María Inés Sicardi, Bridget and Patrick Wade, Leslie and Brad Bucher, Claire and Doug Ankenman, Sima Ladjevardian, Laurie Morian, Heidi and David Gerger, Carla Knobloch, and submarine commanders, MFAH director Gary Tinterow and Glassell director Joe Havel. Lemon Pepper Chicken," "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Octopus Garden" salads • More than $300,000 was added to the Glassell School of Art's coffers.
