Setting the Table The tree-enveloped Dunlavy was the mise en scène for an intimate epicurean dinner party saluting and benefitting Houston-founded Recipe for Success's first decade. Founders Gracie and Bob Cavnar presided as chairs of a multi-course seated feast, The Banquet, that underscored the nonprofit's mission while highlighting the creative masters of the kitchen who have been Recipe's mainstays in changing the way our kids eat. Top Toques All 10 founding chefs of Recipe for Success chef's advisory board — Bryan Caswell, Charles Clark, Robert Del Grande, Randy Evans, Lance Fegen, Pedro Garcia, Elouise Jones, Monica Pope, Randy Rucker, and John Sheely — prepared key courses. Culinary highlights: Pope's date with a pig, Sheely's snapper ceviche, and Fegen's Pupukea-style tuna poke as appetizers; followed by Clark's skate wing in Meyer lemon brodetto, Garcia's lentil soup with shaved black truffle, Caswell's succulent duck leg with Jordan almonds, and Rucker's smoked short rib of beef with mushroom and chickweed. For the finale: Del Grande's pistachio cake, beet crème, and lime glass, Evans' vanilla bean pound cake, and Jones' chocolat pot de crème.
