T he blastoff for the Human Rights Campaign Gala (set for Saturday, April 1) shared so many similari- ties with the HRC gala kickoff 10 years earlier that it felt a time warp. The 2006 gala chairs — Fiona Dawson, Matt Burrus, and Alton LaDay — returned as chairs of this year's kickoff. And PaperCity returned as sponsor of the event, which took place once again in the menswear department at Neiman Marcus. Amid flowing champagne, members of the high-donor HRC Federal Club applauded the reveal of the upcoming gala chairs: Josh Beasley, April Ayers, and Gary Wilson.
